Connecting multiple business locations
The second location is where connectivity stops being a purchase and becomes a standard you have to maintain.
Availability will differ, the configuration should not
No two addresses have the same provider options, so multi-site groups end up with a mix of carriers whether they like it or not. What you can control is everything above the circuit: the same equipment, the same network segments, the same naming, the same firewall rules. When site eleven behaves like site one, support is fast and staff can move between locations without retraining.
One agreement, one account contact
Running separate contracts per site means separate renewal dates, separate escalation paths and nobody with a whole-estate view. A single agreement with one account team covering internet, commercial TV, phone and networking removes that overhead and makes the estate reportable.
Roll out in waves
- Pilot one representative site and finalise the standard build there
- Document it: equipment list, segments, addressing, escalation contacts
- Roll out in waves so problems surface on three sites, not thirty
- Keep overlap on the old service at each site until it is proven
- Review the estate at renewal — availability at a given address often improves year to year
New sites and relocations
For a new location, the availability check should happen before the lease is signed. Discovering after signing that the building needs a construction build to get fibre is an expensive surprise — and the answer sometimes differs between two units in the same plaza.
